UPDATE ON MUNZ STRIKE ACTION AT LYTTELTON PORT
LPC has today been advised that our legal challenge of the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) strike notice for 3-5 February has been declined. The strike action for this period is allowed to proceed.
As we have advised previously, we also have a valid strike notice for Saturday 11 February and Sunday 12 February.
We have contingency plans in place to manage container shipping as well as possible over the strike periods and regret the ongoing interruption to services.
LPC and MUNZ will be in mediated bargaining this week on Wednesday 1 February and Thursday 2 February. Our goal remains to negotiate a settlement soon.
We will provide a further update before the weekend begins.
