Greg brings substantial experience in leading the development and growth of companies in the Australasian supply chain and healthcare sectors. He enjoys working collaboratively and building strong relationships. As a recipient of the Prime Minister's Business Scholarship in 2011, Greg studied post graduate management at the prestigious Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. Having known the Online Distribution team from previous roles with two of the company's long-standing healthcare clients, Greg grabbed the opportunity to join the company. Beginning his tenure as Auckland Regional Manager in early 2018, Greg became Chief Executive in April 2019. Now that the recent Covid-19 crisis has cemented the logistics industry as a critical component in New Zealand's service infrastructure, Greg is excited to be leading a well-established family-owned business in the logistics industry at this time. He has an exciting growth agenda for the company with an ambition to confirm Online Distribution as a lead player in the Australasian multi-channel / e-commerce space. In his spare time Greg enjoys spending time with his young family, mixing in a little golf and following his racehorses.

  • When did you start with Online?
    • I started in 2016 as a Client Manager in our Freight Place 2 warehouse, Auckland.
  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received ?
    • The Auckland region was growing quickly in 2016/2017 with new sites being added a Savill Drive 2 and Savill Drive 3. In early 2017 I was appointed as the Freight Place 2 Site Manager and in 2018 took on the management of a 2nd site (Savill 3 and then Freight Place 1). Online provides an environment which promotes problem solving. The flexible working environment on site allows for people to take initiative and be involved in a wide variety of activities. Management encourages a “can do” attitude, so anyone who comes into the business and loves finding solutions will excel. At the beginning of 2020 I relocated to Christchurch and took on the management of Port Hills 2 and Port Hills 3 sites.
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of the role. We have a wide variety of clients with differing requirements. As technology changes and the needs of our clients change there are continually opportunities to improve our service.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • Its hard to pin down one as it seems like we are constantly updating our warehouse. Recently consolidating our Jipcho Road warehouse to Port Hills in 2020 and the associated moves was a big achievement. Overall, however I’d say my biggest achievement has been working across a variety of our sites and training different 2IC’s over that time. We now have 6 managers in the business who I’ve worked with previously and it is great to see them thriving.

    • I started as a Trainee Site Manager for FP2, then after a couple of years I moved into a 2IC role for FP1. I am currently the Site Manager for SD3.

    • Definitely the people. The diversity is great within the company. As well as the nature of the job – the fast-paced environment means that there are new challenges every day so there is always something new to learn, each day that you’re on-site

  • How would you describe the culture at Online?
    • We all look to put in towards the final goal as a team – no one employee is forced to get the job done alone, as the employees who are also on-site will look to work as a team to finish the job

Jason Reid

H&S and Compliance Manager

Jason Reid came to Online in April 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Sports Business Management. He started his logistics career as a casual storeman in a large warehouse, focusing on a major client. During this time he gained experience in order dispatching, inwards goods and returns and obtained various licences such as MPI Accredited Person and MPI Approved Operator. After a year in the role Jason decided to take a career break, to travel and work overseas.On his return to New Zealand in 2006 he was welcomed back to Online, joining one of our smaller sites as a Trainee learning how to run the warehouse. He was promoted to Site Manager a few months later and over the next few years, Jason managed a variety of warehouses, with each site providing an opportunity to gain more experience: liaising with a variety of clients in larger warehouses, management of inventory control and freight, working with critical KPI’s and client invoicing, dealing with more complex issues and increased staff levels.Jason moved to Head Office in June 2010 and he has held a variety of positions since then including a nationwide freight management role, before moving to our Southern Regional Office team where he focused on training and compliance while also co-ordinating our Health and Safety programme.Jason has recently re-joined our Central Office team and has taken on the newly-established Quality, Compliance and H&S Manager role. 
  • What did you know about Online before you joined?
    • Not much! A friend of mine worked for them and had told me it was the best company he had ever worked for, which is one thing I have never forgotten.
  • How has Online supported your career?
    • Through consistently challenging me and offering me opportunities as I progressed through the company. I have always had the belief that you can go as far with Online as you want it to take you.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • Getting to where I am now. I thought being a Site Manager might have been my ceiling, so I see any progression from there as a bonus.
  • What do you enjoy most about working for Online?
    • Being able to liaise with a lot of very friendly and easy-going people.

Sam Jones

Site Manager

Having started his logistics career as a casual while at University, it quickly became apparent to Sam that this career path could take him somewhere. Coming from the Giltrap Group as a logistics consultant, Online presented an exciting next step in his career. Sam started in September 2019 at Freight Place in Auckland and says that warehouse / site management at Online is unique and best likened to running a small business unit - allowing him to have the flexibility to interact with the team on the floor while maintaining daily operations, financial outlooks and forecasting for potential growth. Outside of work, Sam says he's a big fan of supporting mediocrity in sport, the Blues and the New York Knicks. If it's not sport, he'll be travelling with his partner and friends.

Jasmin Mita

Site Manager

Jasmin Mita joined Online as a casual storeperson in our Auckland branch in March 2008. During her casual employment, Jasmin learnt to pick and pack for a wide range of clients and began to develop her administration skills, which enabled her to be flexible in moving around the sites where needed.In 2009 an administration role opened up and Jasmin was quickly promoted to this position. In this role, she was responsible for invoicing, order pool management, posting orders, customer service and stock control. During this time our Auckland Branch was growing steadily and a change in site management created another opportunity. With her considerable knowledge of Online’s clients and processes she was ready to move into a 2IC role in February 2011.By June 2011, Jasmin was offered the opportunity to become Trainee Site Manager for Auckland’s newly-established Freight Place 2 warehouse. She completed her Trainee Programme while working full time in a very busy site, and in November 2011 she was officially recognised as the Site Manager of Freight Place 2. This was a great achievement for Jasmin and demonstrates the value of spending time learning the business from the floor upwards.  After 18 months running Freight Place 2, Jasmin requested a transfer to Christchurch to be closer to her family. She moved to Christchurch to run our second largest site at Port Hills Road, and has since taken up the role of Site Manager at our largest Christchurch site – Port Hills 1.Alongside her daily responsibilities, she is now using her considerable skills to mentor and support our new Trainee Site Managers. 
  • What did you know about Online before you joined?
    • A bit, I had been around Online since I was 7 years old and had worked for Online Christchurch in the school holidays when I was 14, completing data entry. I also had other family members who worked for Online.
  • How has Online supported your career?
    • Online created the opportunities for me to get to where I am today – without these I would not be a site manager.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • Becoming a site manager, which was never in my original plans. I did not think when I started with Online Auckland that I would one day become a site manager!
  • What do you enjoy most about working for Online?
    • Definitely the people, I have a great team behind me which creates a great working environment.

Guy Evans

After working various roles over a six-year stint in London, Guy joined the family business in 2005. He is a Director of the company and currently holds the General Management Commercial role. Throughout rapid change and growth of the business, Guy has used his skills to influence the company strategy and maintain a philosophy of a family business, believing that the high care and high engagement culture of Online underpins everything, and sets it apart. Guy believes the more time he invests in his people, the more they will invest in Online and its clients. When not at work Guy loves golf and travelling, and he spends many cold hours fishing with his two young kids.

His role as National Sales Manager enables Sam to interact daily with our clients and warehouse teams, and he enjoys adding value to our clients' businesses and helping create solutions. When he's not at work or being kept busy by his wife and three kids, Sam loves getting amongst the outdoors - trail running, fishing, SUP surfing or anything else out in our beautiful country.

Cushla Brown

Accounts Manager

Cushla joined Online Distribution as a school leaver in November 1995. Since then she has worked in a variety of roles for us. She began as an office junior then moved into one of our warehouses to ‘pick and pack’ and assist with stocktaking. She has assisted in all areas of our Support Office, organised functions, carried out supplier reviews, administered payroll, provided human resources support, as well as client customer service.Her current role as Accounts Manager involves management of accounts receivable and payable, administering staff payroll, processing our company accounts and reporting to the management team. And in 2016, with the support of Online Distribution, Cushla started part-time study at Canterbury University. 
  • What did you know about Online Distribution before you joined?
    • Absolutely nothing!  Online Distribution was a very small company when I started, with only 3 Christchurch warehouses and 8 staff – very different from where it is today.
  • How has Online Distribution supported your career?
    • My employers at Online Distribution have been very supportive throughout my career.  I have had 2 children since starting here and both times Online has been so accommodating and flexible, allowing me to alter my work life to suit my home commitments. As I started my job straight from school, I never had time to further my studies, which is something I have always wanted to do. Online Distribution fully supports and encourages this and I am now studying part-time at Canterbury University, with the end goal gaining a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting. I couldn’t do this without Online’s support and flexibility, which is something I have been hugely grateful for and believe sets them apart from many other companies.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online Distribution to date?
    • I have had so many achievements over the years, it is hard to choose just one. However one that stands out would have to be completing and finalising our company accounts. This is a big job that provides a huge sense of achievement and relief when completed every year.
  • What do you enjoy most about working for Online Distribution?
    • It has to be the people. Online Distribution has such a great bunch of staff who make so easy to come to work every day. Even though the company has grown so much since I started, it still manages to maintain that close family feel, which is fantastic. The company must be doing something right if it can still keep me interested after so many years!

    • I was a casual during my years in university from 2012 to 2016. Became a Trainee Site Manager in 2017 and then 2IC later that year for FP1. 2020 was the year I became the Site Manager for SD2
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • My SD2 team is the best and I enjoy working with my colleagues in our AKL management team
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • Becoming a Site Manager. Doubted myself many times about this position, but I had my manager and team at the time supporting me all the way which gave me confidence to take on the challenge.

Jesse Strickland

Operations Manager - Northern

Jesse started with Online in a casual role in October 2009, and worked on and off until he completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting in 2012.  At the end of 2012 he went to Auckland to help out with the summer season for one of our major clients.In January 2013 Jesse joined our Trainee Manager Programme, based at Freight Place in Auckland. He was promoted to 2IC in March 2013 and then Manager in June 2014. As a Manager, his role included running one of our biggest warehouses over the summer season, coaching new staff and creating efficiencies in our Freight Place operation. Further promotion followed, and Jesse is now the Operations Manager for our Northern Region.Since joining Online, Jesse has not only gained knowledge and experience in warehousing, but also business in general and says “I enjoy applying what I have learned from my studies into a proper business setting”. 
  • What did you know about Online before you joined?
    • Initially I didn’t know much at all. I was aware of Online as a company but had no idea exactly what the company did.
  • How has Online supported your career?
    • Very well. I was fortunate enough to walk into a job which can provide significant opportunity for career progression. This is something which is surprisingly hard to do for many graduates.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • Progressing as far as I have in such a short amount of time.

Jake Strickland

Site Manager

Jake moved from his home town on the Kapiti Coast to Auckland joining Online in 2015, and he quickly stepped onto a career path toward site management. Jake says that site management can best be described as running your own business unit – leading and supporting your team, running the daily operations, focusing on continuous improvement, servicing our clients, and managing a profit and loss ledger are some of the tasks that motivate him. Outside of work Jake enjoys doing all sorts, including catching up with friends and family, playing many sports (mostly basketball), and recently trying his hand at golf and hunting. He is also an avid supporter of the Chicago Bulls and the Mighty Hurricanes!

  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received ?
    • I started at Online with very little knowledge of 3rd party logistics, I started on the floor as a store person learning a variety of clients and standard practices. Working in all our port hills road sites I found myself loving the fast paced, ever-changing environment. I then moved into a 2IC role at PH3 where I worked closely with my Site Manager to help run the floor; it was here I learned a lot about how the business ran and was given more and more responsibility. In August 2021 I was made Site manager of PH2, The support I have received from my direct managers and Operations has allowed me to learn and ultimately progress in my career.
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • The business is ever changing, we are continuously looking at new processes to ensure our clients are getting the very best service. Also I enjoy working closely with a great group of people including my co workers and my clients.

    • Definitely becoming Site manager of Port Hills 2. This was a big step up for me and I have really enjoyed the challenge.

    • November 2015
  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received ?
    • I joined Online Distribution under the Trainee Site Manager programme and worked across a number of sites in Christchurch in the following 2.5 years before being offered an analytical support role in the Southern Regional Office. After a restructure the following year, I was then offered an analytical role in the Central Office supporting the company in it’s freight endeavours.
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • I believe people are the most important part of any company and any company can be judged by the way it treats its employees. So my favorite thing about working for Online Distribution is the relatively flat organizational structure the company adopts. This results in people across all levels across Online Distribution being approachable and all employees being cared for and part of the Online family.

    • On a personal note, it would be being recognized and offered new roles in my career here.

    • February 2015
  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received ?
    • After a long career in local government, I was looking for something different. I started here on a three-month fixed term contract in this newly-created role – and have never left! The role has evolved a lot over time, particularly as the company has grown. I have been supported to build the role, identifying what is required and working with a variety of people and teams across the company to add value and implement improvements and changes. There are no two days the same, and I’ve learnt so much in my time here.
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • I’d identify two things – firstly, the encouragement and support I have had from management in my time here. And secondly, I’d have to say all the great people here – on any day I could work alongside our Directors, management, the team here in the office and all our hard working teams in the warehouses – and they all do their very best for the company every day.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • My greatest achievement is being able to help others do their jobs better every day – that’s what a support role is all about.

    • I originally came on as Trainee Manger and in two years have been promoted to various roles. Currently I am a Site Manger.

    • The wide exposure to different aspects of the business.
    • I’m invoicing, engaging in customer service, staff planning & labour management, KPI management, HR procurement etc.
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • The service that my teams have provided our clients has always been a point of pride, we always go that extra mile to make sure the clients receive the best service we can offer.
    • Making improvements to the safety of the sites I’ve worked at is also a point of pride. It’s always good to leave work knowing that your team are going to be safer tomorrow then they were yesterday.

    • Approachable – Anybody can raise concerns with anybody. A team member can have a chat to the GM & CEO about anything.
    • I’m in regular contact with my direct manager, he’s always available to take a call & answer questions.

Rebecca started with Online Distribution as a storeperson in 2003, learning a lot over the next 12 years as she moved around a number of our Christchurch warehouses in storeperson, client manager, 2IC and Site Manager roles. In late 2014 Rebecca was offered the opportunity to spend some time working in the office as an Accounts Assistant and for a few months she split her time between the warehouse and the accounts team, before moving full-time to the accounts role. Now she spends her days working on invoicing and general accounts payable/receivable tasks. Rebecca has a cat called Jim, and in her spare time she enjoys getting out on the jet ski and mountain bike, shopping and food. Bex is currently on parental leave.

    • I started with Online in November 2020.
  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received.
    • I began at Online as a casual and planned to work in the warehouses over my university summer holidays. At the end of my summer holidays, I enquired about a permanent part-time position at Online Distribution and was offered a role in the Head Office as reception/administration. Online Distribution is extremely flexible and understanding of my university and sporting commitments and I receive endless support and encouragement to strive for excellence in everything that I do, inside and outside of the office. I am currently studying towards a double degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work with Honours at UC and I am very lucky to work for such an understanding, accommodating and supportive company.
  • What are your favourite things about working with Online?
    • My favourite thing about working at Online is the way their staff are treated. Online Distribution go above and beyond to ensure their staff are well-looked after and appreciated. This quality is present in both the office setting and the warehouses. Staff here are valued for what they do.
    • Also, the plenty of free lunches in the warehouses of course ...😉
  • What has been your biggest achievement working for Online to date?
    • I haven’t been here that long! But I’d like to think I achieve new things every day. This job is packed full of continuous learning and as society changes, we change with it, meaning no two days are ever the same.
  • How would you describe the culture at Online?
    • The culture here is unmatched to any job I’ve had before. Online is so flexible and accommodating towards their staff which sets them apart from other employers.   • When did you start with Online?
    • January 2006. (I believe I was a temp for a few months prior to this)
  • Tell us about your career growth with Online and the support you have received ?
    • I started as a store person in 2006, at this time I had limited experience in warehousing and none in 3PL. Over the next 5 years I learnt a variety of skills, from different mentors, including lift truck operations, inwards and outwards goods, freight and inventory management. As I gained experience I was given more responsibility which included supervising staff where my leadership skills started to develop. In 2011 I joined the trainee site manager program and at the same time took on the role as 2IC at our Port Hills Road Warehouse 2 site. I received one on one training with the site manager where I learnt skills to manage the warehouse. Online also offered external training so I could further develop my leadership and staff management skills. I stepped into my first site manager role in 2012 which was at our Port Hills Road Warehouse 1 site. This was a great opportunity for me to test everything I had learnt over the previous 6 years while continuing to learn higher level skills from different mentors in the central and regional offices which created a supportive environment. I continued my role as a site manager for the next 8 years, during this time I managed two other warehouses where I honed my management skills as each site had their own unique client profiles and challenges. In 2019 I was given the opportunity to work in a projects role where my responsibility was supporting the onboarding of a global apparel retailer. I then took up the challenge of my current role as inventory controller in 2020.
  • What are your favorite things about working with Online?
    • Just to name a few: the variety of challenges and tasks which differ each day, the career progression opportunities I’ve been given to get me where I am today, a positive work environment created by a friendly team.

    • Successfully managing multiple sites
