Significant Weather Event – Courier and Transport Delays
As has been reported over the last 48 hours, heavy rain has fallen throughout the Canterbury region causing widespread flooding.
Road closures and flooding have seriously affected access to much of this region and will cause ongoing delays to service levels until such time as the flooding clears. Delivery operations from our carriers are suspended in all areas where a ‘State of Emergency’ has been declared, and our carriers will also temporarily cease delivery in any other areas where they feel conditions are unsafe. Links to the West Coast will operate on an alternative route, and all transport links from/to Christchurch and the upper South Island and Inter-Island are expected to operate as normal.
Weather conditions are due to improve as Monday progresses, but it may take some time before normal service can be resumed.
