Client Update 15 May 2020 – Freight / Courier Update
Further to the Client Update of 12 May, our freight and courier partners have now issued further updates.
The peak volumes experienced by the freight and courier sector in Alert Level 3 are expected to continue, or increase even further, with most businesses now operating under Alert Level 2. Social distancing and additional cleaning / hygiene procedures are still required at this level.
Many delivery times have been extended for the immediate future. While delays are expected for both urban and rural freight and parcels, Auckland and Wellington delivery times are being affected the most, with some deliveries in these two cities currently taking between 5 and 10 days. Inter-island freight is also experiencing delays of up to 2 days.
We continue to work closely with all our freight and courier partners and are confident that they are doing everything they can to keep freight and parcels moving through the network as fast as possible.
