Freight Update – 2 June 2021
An alternative route to SH1 is now available, enabling freight to start moving south from Christchurch again. This alternative route adds considerable time on to the movements, and rail is still closed south of Christchurch, affecting volumes of freight able to be sent.
Our courier and freight partners have huge backlogs of freight which will take some time to clear.
All of this means that it is likely to be the end of next week at the earliest before our client SLAs return to normal.
