Severe Weather Effects on Service

Tuesday June 13th 4.30pm
Swells of up to 6 to 7 metres wave height have been forecast to hit Cook Strait from this evening through to the early hours of Thursday morning.   Interislander Ferries are advising their Cook Strait sailings will be cancelled after midnight tonight, and may remain suspended for the following 24 hour period.
The result of these cancellations will have an effect on all inter island two day road freight in both directions from today onwards, causing major delays to all freight designated for this service.
Heavy snowfall warnings have also been issued for the Lewis, Arthur’s and Lindis Passes and for SH1 around Dunedin, while gale force wind warnings have been issued for many other parts of the country.
As always we will do our very best to mitigate delays by working with our freight partners, we ask for your patience as we work through these upcoming challenges.
