A brief summary of Online Distribution Services last 22 years

 

2009-2010

 

The Port Hills Road complex is completed and occupied by Online's head office as well as nine serviced office clients. Total on site warehousing capacity exceeds 12,000 pallet positions.

 

Another central warehouse is added to the portfolio to service the storage, distribution, office and cut to length requirements of "Gale Pacific (NZ) Ltd"

 

Online Distribution adopts a fresh new logo

 


 

2007-2008

 

Online Distribution completes stages 1,2 and 3 of a 4 stage purpose built multi warehousing and distribution centre totaling 81,000 square feet with an accompanying serviced office complex on Port Hills road strategically positioned between the Lyttelton Port and the CBD.

 

 

 


 

2006

 

Online Distribution launched its new Australian division, positioning itself as the leading 3PL provider assisting New Zealand SME’s entering the Australian market.

 


2004

 

Online Distribution opens a 20,000 square foot warehouse in Treffer's Road exclusively managing Exxon Mobil's distribution and logistics requirements.

Caerphilly Place opens boasting some of the best dangerous goods storage facilities in New Zealand. In addition to this Online Distribution  opens a 20,000 square foot warehouse in Bamford St, Online's 17th site.

To increase service levels to their growing client base, Online Distribution  opens a state of the art contact centre, to offer a comprehensive range of call centre services in 2005.


2003

 

Online Distribution opens two new warehouses in Iversen Terrace. This is an example of Online Distribution  use of clusters of buildings within walking distance of each other, to enable sharing of staff. One of these buildings is used for running the Inward Goods Department for J Ballantynes & Co Ltd, one of New Zealand's largest department stores.

Online Distribution opens a new FMCG warehouse in the Southpark complex, Christchurch. This vast Distribution Centre was specifically designed around the need of clients who service the grocery trade.


2002

 

Online Distribution constructs a purpose built distribution facility at Magdala Place around the exacting needs of Agfa-Gevaert NZ Ltd. The surplus warehouse and office space is filled with complimentary clients for greater efficiency.

 


2001

 

Online Distribution completes building a second large distribution facility at Jipcho Road, for client Specialised Sales and Marketing Ltd. This brings the total area for both sites to 35,000 sq feet.


2000

 

Online Distribution acquires Meadows Southern Logistics Ltd from UTI Worldwide Inc. Online Distribution Services also opens a new warehouse and shared office complex in Falsgrave Street.


1998 - 1999

 

Online Distribution  opens more warehousing in Christchurch including branches at Leeds Street, Vulcan Place, Iversen Terrace, Humphries Drive, Jipcho Road and a second warehouse alongside the original in Byron Street.


1997

 

Under the new structure, Online Distribution opens its first purpose built warehousing facilities, in Byron Street, Sydenham. This is the first of many sites that focuses on modern architecturally designed offices partnered with top-quality warehouse space.


1995

 

Provoked by a change in lifestyle, Ben Evans purchases back the South Island operations of Online Distribution , keeping the rights to use the Online Distribution name. At this time the company is spread over 4 sites with 10 staff.


1988

 

Ben Evans establishes Online Distribution and manages the company for shareholders. These shareholders included the Freightways Group, incorporating New Zealand Couriers, Post Haste, Castle Parcel, Armourguard and Stocklink.
